DIRTYBIRD CAMPOUT
ALL YOUR FAVORITE DJS IN THE WORLD
Project dates
June 2015 - October 2015
Dirtybird Campout is a lively and distinctive music festival that fuses electronic music with outdoor adventure and creative activities. Hosted by Dirtybird Records, it offers a unique blend of music, games, and communal spirit in a playful summer camp setting.
In my role as the Social Media Manager for the inaugural event, I assumed a pivotal role in shaping the festival's digital presence. My responsibilities encompassed the development and execution of comprehensive social media strategies across various platforms. Notably, I deployed engaging content, which included a handful of substantial artist-focused series, enhancing our audience's connection to the event's unique DJ-centric identity.
Beyond social media management, I took charge of customer support through email and direct messages, contributed to the creation of captivating campaign collateral, delivered weekly email newsletters to an actively engaged subscriber base exceeding 40,000, and was instrumental to the festival's digital written content strategy.
Notable accomplishments
In the initial year, I undertook the task of building our social media accounts from scratch, starting at zero and successfully growing our following to an impressive 31.9K. To achieve this, I harnessed the power of campy graphic content, artist highlights, engaging memes, and more. These strategies not only amplified our digital presence but also elevated the well-established Dirtybird brand, adding a unique and dynamic dimension to our online identity.
Tapped into Dirtybird's artist roster to create original content that appealed to their dedicated community and promoted the new event effectively.
ARTIST GENERATED CONTENT
Recognizing that the brand's usual fans weren't typically inclined towards camping, I devised creative strategies to help prepare people through social media.
PREPPING THE AUDIENCE
COUNTDOWN TO CAMP
Generated anticipation by creating a captivating countdown series that featured imagery of games and activities that viewers would soon have the opportunity to participate in, effectively building excitement for the upcoming festival.
